Philosophy of Education

Liss A. Maynard

It is my belief that all children can learn; however at different rates and styles. As an educator, we must unlock each and every child’s potential, inspiring them to be their personal best.  We must be their light when their next steps are unclear by providing high levels of engagement and a rigorous academic curriculum.  We help children have a QUALITY life and prepare them to compete in this world.  We help dreams become reality through the experiences we offer everyday.  Teaching is an art, a calling and as educators we are molding young minds, developing the next generation of leaders.  Regardless of the background or economic status, we must afford all students a quality education.

As educators, we must model what we expect from our students, staff and parents.  We should always exemplify excellence.  As an educational leader, it is my responsibility to enroll others in the vision in order to accomplish the goals and objectives of the organization.  As an effective and transformational leader, I must treat others with respect, be compassionate and passionate, be fair and consistent and be an instructional leader.  I must make decisions that yield maximum student and staff achievement.  We must be more than managers; we must develop other leaders and bring out the best in them.  Teachers have the hardest jobs, I believe I must create an environment that affords teachers the opportunity to fulfill their duties and responsibilities to the best of their ability and at the highest level possible. I must work with them for they are the drivers of instruction!
